“House of Music” is a concert venue in Aalborg, home of the Aalborg Symphony Orchestra and the Aalbord branch of the Royal Academy of Music. The building is brand-new, it was completed in 2014, and it’s quite good looking. Well I guess it depends on your personal tastes, but as we were walking along the Limfjord in Aalborg, it caught our attention. I guess that’s what they call Nordic design 😉
Inside, I saw an ad for Pirates of the Caribbean… as a huge fan of both the movies and their soundtrack, imagine my excitement! It turned out that this show consists of a showing of the movie, with the orchestra playing the music. I’m afraid I won’t be able to see that, Aalborg is a bit far away, but that looks like a really cool idea.
The inside of the building is crazy, and we could take a walk up the stairs. We even saw the main room, which is quite impressive as well.
This is the last article dealing with our trip to the top of Denmark in the middle of April. On the day after, before driving back to Copenhagen, we visited a nature reserve called Lille Vildmose. I looked for the Bean goose (Anser fabalis) again, with no luck, but a Great grey shrike (Lanius excubitor), resting in a hedge, made my day. That is, until a birder with a good scope showed us three Golden eagles (Aquila chrysaetos) flying above a small lake, in the south of the area. Lille Vildmose is the only place in Denmark where this species breeds. My dad really wanted to see a seal, and we got one in Skagen; my mom, on the other hand, really wanted to see a White-tailed eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) during this trip. We didn’t catch any, unfortunately, but I think the Golden eagle makes for a nice replacement!
